Storage For Paintings
04 February, 2015
When it comes to the storage of paintings, there are a number of special requirements that need to be considered. With this in mind, it is imperative to use a storage company who are skilled and experieenced in the storage of fine art and paintings.
Understanding the special storage requirements of paintings
The environment in which a painting is stored can have a dramatic impact on its condition, with adverse storage conditions causing a painting to deteriorate more quickly, resulting in a negative impact upon the pieces value and aesthetic appeal.
The storage system that we use for paintings, differs to the usual "empty box" storage space we provide to customers in our standard units. Our specialist storage units for paintings use fully supported picture racking, a system that is cost effective and ensures your works of art are kept in the best possible condition during storage.
This storage method allows multiple paintings to be hung, without taking up too much physical space and means you don't have to resort to stacking paintings one on top of the other. Our picture racks are made out of very strong wire sliding panels, which allow the paintings to breath.
Climate controlled units
Our storage facilities are perfectly suited for storing paintings and are fully climate controlled. This means that there is no excessive moisture, heat or light - ensuring your paintings remain perfectly preserved.
